Founder

Mr. U. Sagayam I.A.S

Mr. U. Sagayam I.A.S has founded this Nambikkai Illam - Home of Hope in 2009 for providing shelter, education, and basic needs of the orphaned children. The people of Namakkal were fortunate enough to witness his straight-forward, compassionate, and efficient welfare measures. The goodwill he thus earned from the people remains the catalyst for their generous donations, which keeps the Nambikkai Illam running smoothly till date.

In addition to donating part of his salary to the Illam during its earlier days, Mr. Sagayam ensures that whatever extra fund he receives for delivering lectures and speeches is directly transferred to the Home. Recently, he received an Award of "The Best Administrative Officer" and cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- from Masila-Vijaya Foundation which he instantaneously transferred to Nambikkai Illam. Such is the love and commitment he has for the welfare and upliftment of the children.

The First Donor

Mrs. Vimala Sagayam

Mrs. Vimala Sagayam is the first donor of the Nambikkai Illam. She has been donating a significant amount of money to the Illam for the welfare of the children.She has not only stood by Mr. Sagayam IAS in his fight against corruption and injustice, but also in his philanthropic initiatives wholeheartedly. From the day one, she has been caring for the children’s welfare passionately, continuously following up with their education, health care and holistic development. She has made Nambikkai Illam her extended family.

Memorable Mother

Mrs. G. Janaki (Amma)

She has been one of the pillars of Nambikkai Illam. From the day of its inception till her last breath, she has poured her heart and soul into the welfare of the children and the development of the Illam. Affectionately called as Amma by the children, she has shown what a motherly love is! Many of them found their true mother in her. Her memory ever lingers in our mind.

Thiru. C. Kathir Selvan

Thiru. C. Kathir Selvan has been monitoring the daily activities of the Illam, executing the plans of the Founder Mr. Sagayam meticulously for all-round development of the children. He ensures that the children are provided with nutritious food, safest living environment, basic amenities and the much-needed care. With his soft and amenable demeanour, he has been proving that deeds are more powerful than words.

Mrs. Mekala

Mrs. Mekala provides emotional, educational, and moral support to every child under her care. She follows-up with the educational progress of the children responsibly. She has been taking care of the children as her own and helps them, in all possible ways.
