Activities

The inmates of the Nambikkai Illam are provided with shelter, nutritious food and education until they turn 18. The children are safely taken to their schools in our own van. The academic progress of the children is continuously monitored. Periodical medical checkup is duly organized. Psychological counseling is offered to the children. The children are instilled with confidence to participate in extra-curricular activities and competitions like sports, elocution, singing, drawing, dancing etc. We are making efforts to provide soft-skill training to them.

Achievements

  • The Home has protected the tender female children from the existing vulnerability.
  • The Home has provided shelter, food, clothing with education to more than 70 children so far.
  • The Home has produced one M.Sc. Graduate, 2 Graduates, and made the 1st girl child join Law School of Excellence, Taramani, Chennai and another one joined as a medical student at a Dental College.

Salient Features of the Home

  • It was started by an I.A.S. officer sympathetically and it is closely monitored and run even now by him.
  • Dedicated Trustees and committed Director and Staff play crucial role in the day to day functioning of this Home currently.
  • Accounts are open and transparent.
  • Periodical parents/guardians meetings are organized.
  • An effective public relation is maintained.
  • Citizens of Namakkal claim and call it as ‘’Our Collector’s Home” (“நம்ப கலெக்டரோட இல்லம்“) and donate whatever they can to run the Home.
